This year marks the fifth year that Dallas County has made a commitment to support students like Laurez. To date, Promise has helped nearly 90,000 high school seniors and their families complete their college applications, financial aid and admissions processes, and provide their students with the latest US dollar scholarships at participating institutions. The number is increasing. The program currently includes 69 participating high schools serving 25,000 students each year.

Beginning September 1, students at these 69 participating high schools can complete the Pledge Pathway to demonstrate their initial interest in receiving tuition assistance, coaching, and other Pledge benefits. This step ensures that students can participate in the program without any commitment to a partner college or university.

Katrina James, executive director of Promise Dallas County, said the coalition works to engage students and families in the process of thinking about possible postsecondary options because it can be difficult to start the conversation at that school first. Happened for the first time.
