Very simple in principle, donations are not a recognized option. Many students overlook scholarships, which are basically free money. College scholarships cover tuition, books, and other school expenses. Once you qualify for the grant, the money is yours. Often the only requirement is to spend on school expenses.

The donation is non-refundable. Unlike loans that must be paid back with interest, donations do not have a lasting effect on your personal finances.

Compared to loans, scholarships are also much easier for low-income students to obtain. A bad financial situation can make it impossible for you to get a loan at a good rate. At the same time, the same issues mean that you are more eligible for the most common government and institutional grants. This means you register for them on time.
