After filling out your federal form, or FAFSA, you’ll need to fill out a similar form for financial aid in Pennsylvania, the PA State Grant Form. Pennsylvania residents who have completed high school but have not earned a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for this scholarship program. Funds may be used to attend a two- or four-year public college if approved by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). Children of police officers, firefighters, first responders or EMS workers, law enforcement officers, active duty National Guardsmen, sheriffs and deputy sheriffs who have died in the line of duty are eligible for this program. These funds may be used full-time at a Pennsylvania community college, state institution, or state-affiliated institution toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia
Pennsylvania foster youth who have graduated from high school and are under the age of 26 can apply for this state-administered federal grant program. Under Title IV student aid programs in the United States, money can be used to attend a college or vocational school approved by the Department of Education. Funds may be used toward approved degree or certificate studies at certain institutions. Students are expected to work as active volunteers for five years after graduation.
