How To Apply For Local Scholarships For High School Seniors In Chicago – The Chicago Department of Family Services and Supports (DFSS) is now accepting applications for the 2024 Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Scholarship Program in partnership with the Illinois Partnership for Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The program awards $230,000 in scholarships to eligible full-time students enrolled in continuing education or professional training programs in the upcoming fall semester. The scholarship aims to cover costs such as tuition, books and other related education costs with an approved institution.
“DFSS is excited to offer the 2024 CSBG Scholarships because the cost of higher education prevents many young people from achieving their dreams,” said Brandy Naze, DFSS Commissioner.

DFSS has established scholarships, sponsored by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. These scholarships are available only to full-time students enrolled in a college, university, or vocational training program during the fall term. semester 2024.

Scholarships And Education Courses
Four scholarships of $2,000 each are currently available for the academic year. One of the scholarships is reserved for a qualified applicant who is the dependent of a current employee of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
“The ICF Conservation Achievement Scholarship program rewards high school students with an interest in conservation and encourages them to focus their studies on enhancing and protecting our natural resources,” said Natalie Phelps Finney, ICF Board of Directors and Chair, Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
ICF Conservation Achievement Scholarships have been awarded since 2005. Applicants must be a resident of Illinois and an Illinois high school graduate. Applications must be received by the ICF by March 3rd. Detailed instructions and an application form for 2024 can be found on the ICF website at www.ilconservation.org.
