These programs include: Federal Bridge Grants, Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grants, Federal Work Study, and Federal Direct Loans. To receive federal aid, students must be enrolled in an eligible Title IV program and must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Students who demonstrate financial need, are enrolled in an eligible Title IV program, and have not completed a degree may be eligible for this grant. Eligibility is determined based on Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is calculated using the information provided by the student/parent on the FAFSA. The amount of the bridge grant is $6,345 per academic year beginning in fall 2020.

Students may only receive federal financial aid for the equivalent of twelve (12) semesters of full-time enrollment at each institution. This applies to all students who have previously received a federal Pell grant.
Full-time enrollment is not required to receive a Pell grant. Pell funds are initially awarded based on full-time enrollment status, but can be adjusted to pay a lower amount based on the student’s current enrollment. Students taking 12 credit hours or more are considered full-time and receive 100% of the quarterly scholarship. Credit hours 9-11 are considered ¾ time and carry 75% of the course award. 6 to 8 credit hours is considered half time and receives 50% and 5 credit hours is less than ½ time and receives 25% of the semester award.

Some ATC programs/courses offer courses that do not last a full semester. Course 1 can last 3 weeks, then the student starts with course 2, then course 3, and so on. (all during one semester). * A Pell grant is paid when attendance begins in a course, although a student may enroll in all courses at the beginning of the semester. Student money is paid in installments. *At the end of the semester, the student will receive 100% of their Pell Grant eligibility for that semester.
