HOUSTON – More than 600 high school graduates will attend the Texas college of their choice with additional financial aid thanks to scholarship money from the Houston Livestock and Rodeo.
Superstar student Teniola Oyinlonna was one of the lucky ones. He graduated last week with two diplomas: one from Hightower High School and one from Houston Community College.
“They get up early to make sure I’m there (at school) and get good grades,” he said.
“I was like, ‘God, we won, we won, and I’m so grateful,'” he said.

Voscamp said each student will receive $20,000 toward their college goals, for a total of $12.8 million awarded this summer.
“Applications are evaluated three times in blind judging. We remove any identifying information from the application and then average the scores,” says Voscamp.
