Kayla’s love for airplanes is fueled by the proximity of the airport, which is only 15 minutes from her home. He loves airport tours, talking to pilots and field technicians and immersing himself in the vibrant aviation community. This led him to obtain a degree in aviation from San Jose State University, where he strives to achieve academic success and maintain a high GPA at work, school and flight training. His goal is to graduate in May 2027 and continue his journey to become a flight instructor and become a commercial pilot. As a flight instructor, Kayla will have the opportunity to share her passion for aviation and help others achieve their dreams of flying, which she hopes will be very rewarding. Kayla gives back in many ways. She is currently a member of the Air Force ROTC program and a contributing member of Women in Aviation. Outside of aviation, Kayla wants to make the world of flying more accessible and fun by teaching young women who are interested in aviation. His experience helps him overcome obstacles and inspire confidence in other aspiring pilots.
Milpitas High School Seniors Earn More Than $2 Million In Scholarships
Juan suffered from plane sickness at an early age. In fact, he can’t remember a time when he wasn’t interested in airplanes and flying. This passion for flying led Juan to begin pilot training while still in high school, where he passed his personal test and became a licensed pilot during his senior year. Juan hasn’t stopped since. He is currently enrolled in the aviation program at San Jose State University (SJSU) where he is continuing his flight training. In August 2024, Juan passed his application review and is currently working on his business ticket and infrastructure instructor license. Everyone who meets Juanes, his drive is immediately taken for success. As a student, she was involved in the SJSU Precision Flight Team as a safety officer, Flying 20 as a treasurer, American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), Women in Aviation (WIA) and Alpha Eta. bed In his spare time, Juan works as a safety analyst for NASA’s Aviation Safety Reporting Report (ASRS). It was this job, along with his personal finances and education, that allowed Juan to pursue his dream of becoming a commercial pilot.
Justin has been flying since August 2023. During this time, he accumulated more than 180 hours of flight time and passed a personal inspection and application. He is currently working on his commercial pilot’s license and hopes to complete it in the spring of 2025. Justin is a sophomore at San Jose State University where he is majoring in the aviation program. As a student, Justin was involved in many student organizations. As a member of the Precision Aviation team, he is now a field competition instructor, and participates in local and national events and has the opportunity to fly. He is also active in Alpha Eta Rho, where he was recently elected treasurer. At Women’s Aviation, Justine was able to attend/volunteer at several SJSU aviation networking events. When he was a child, Justin’s family took international flights every summer. It was the excitement of these trips that fueled Justine’s love for travel and all things aviation, and led Justine to associate jet passengers with travel and fun! But his flight plans aren’t just about flying and seeing the world below, Justin also finds airports, their systems and the people you meet fascinating.
Halle is a senior at San Jose State University where she hopes to earn a bachelor’s degree in aviation next spring. Her aviation journey began as a young woman when an airline company was traveling overhead. He remembers “airplanes” flying over his house and wonders if one day he will be able to fly. He can do it. Halle’s current goals include passing the recently completed personal observation flight and continuing to fly to become a pilot. He was instrumental in establishing SJSU’s partnership with Alaska and Horizon Airlines, which provides financial assistance to students for career transitions. Halle hopes to use this new program in the near future. Halle has worked various jobs to support her academic goals, including a nanny at an Amazon warehouse, a waitress and her current job as a research assistant for NASA’s Flight Safety Reporting System program. . In this work, he carefully examines a wide range of aviation safety stories and provides valuable insight into many aspects of aviation. Halle is currently the director of Women in Aviation, through which she gained an interest in promoting girls and women to become pilots. She recently helped organize Girls in Aviation Day, which drew more than 200 children to Reed-Hillview Airport. Her efforts in the field recently earned her an invitation to speak at a women’s STEM event in her hometown.
Sophia is pursuing her Aviation Professional Flight Degree at San Jose State University (SJSU). He strives to do well in his studies, maintain a high GPA, and studies to finish the semester quickly. His goal in studying early was to accumulate more flight hours, accelerating his journey to becoming a commercial pilot and eventually an airline pilot.

Sophia has always had a clear sense of purpose and passion to make a difference in her community. His academic journey was shaped by commitment to leadership, love of aviation, and commitment to self-improvement.
Sophia started learning to fly when she was in high school. By the end of the school year, he had passed the written test for his private pilot’s license. The following summer, Sophia continued her flight training, earning her private pilot’s certificate shortly after starting school at SJSU. Since then, he has not only completed his instrument rating, but has been working hard on his commercial pilot’s license, as well as working as an airline fuel assistant at the San Martin airport.
In addition to her academic and aviation activities, Sofia lives a full life with her personal interests including triathlons, ultramarathons and climbing. These events show his unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and achieving excellence in every aspect of his life.
Joshua is pursuing a degree in Aviation Professional Flight from San Jose State University (SJSU) with a graduation date of May 2025. Joshua has earned his private and commercial pilot’s certificate with an instrument rating and is active in aviation. his machine and a certified flight instructor. Certification (CFI). Additionally, Joshua plans to earn a Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument Rating (CFII) next year and plans to work as a CFII for his final three semesters at SJSU.

As an active member of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) for more than six years, Joshua has shown not only leadership, but also a deep sense of responsibility towards the airport and the entire community. Her experience at CAP includes serving in the Public Relations Department, where she developed a website, managed social media, and launched exciting community programs such as the United Airlines-sponsored Youth Flight Program. As a Cap Cadet Commander, he leads and directs a large group of cadets.
Joshua is currently an aircraft research engineer for Airbus, responsible for onboard data acquisition systems and contributing to technical development for the Airbus A320neo family. This past summer, Joshua was an airport operator at United Airlines in Los Angeles (LAX). He is responsible for analyzing operational performance and establishing performance indicators to identify opportunities for station and network growth. In addition, he is an aeronautical and dispatching instructor at the Technology Innovation Center for Airbus in Sunnyvale, working in a team to develop the full flight operations and test matrices.
In addition to his involvement with the Civil Air Patrol, Joshua is a teaching assistant for SJSU Professor Edgar Mora. Joshua helped develop the program’s flight lab, making it available to students free of charge. His commitment to improving the resources of his colleagues is a testament to his commitment to the advancement of aviation education.
Bhavya, a soon-to-be graduate of San Jose University’s aviation management department, is doing a very important job. She currently serves as an instructor, treasurer of the SJSU Women’s Aviation Chapter.
