Since tuition fees are not standardized across the country, the tuition fee for each scholarship will depend on the school you attend. The ROTC program is designed to pay for full tuition in exchange for military service after graduation, either as an active or reserve officer.

Phoenix Union High School District
The Concurrent Membership Program (SMP) allows you to participate in Army ROTC and serve in the US Army Reserve or Army National Guard at the same time. This option provides an opportunity to gain additional training and experience. After college, cadets serve in the Army Reserve or National Guard as officer trainees. This option allows you to earn Army Reserve/National Guard pay and benefits in addition to Army ROTC benefits.
The Partnerships for Youth Success (PaYS) program is a strategic Army marketing and recruiting program that establishes partnership programs with a cross-section of U.S. industry and public sector agencies. ROTC cadets accepted into the PaYS program are eligible for job interview and possible employment subject to college requirements and deployment.
Army ROTC scholarships provide a living allowance of $420 per month for each academic year. Non-scholarship cadets in advanced ROTC courses (junior and senior) also receive this discount.

You agree to accept a commission and serve in the military on active duty or in the reserves (Army Reserve or Army National Guard)
Special training in Army ROTC includes subjects such as leadership development, military skills, and adventure training. It’s both inside and outside the classroom, but you have a regular schedule like any college student. Army ROTC consists of two phases: the Basic Course and the Advanced Course.
Major courses are usually taken during the first two years of college. This usually includes one elective class or lab per semester. You will learn basic military skills and principles of leadership and begin to become an army commander. You can complete the Army ROTC Basic Course without military service.
An advanced course is an elective during the last two years of college. This includes one elective class and lab each semester, as well as a summer management course. You will learn advanced military tactics and gain experience in team organization, planning and decision-making. Enrollment in advanced courses requires a commitment to serve in the U.S. military as an officer (active duty, reserve, or national guard) upon graduation.

When it comes to Army ROTC, it’s not all classroom and field training. Outside the classroom, there are many opportunities to get to know fellow students and improve skills in various areas. Learn more about these events and activities below.
Considered ROTC’s “varsity sport,” Ranger Challenge team members by 8 p.m. accomplishes more than most college students do in an entire day. As with other varsity sports, you have to try out to make the team. Much of the training takes place during the fall semester in preparation for regional competition, with the ultimate goal of representing the Roadrunner Battalion at the National Ranger Challenge held at West Point. Activities focus on military skills such as physical fitness, marching, casualty care, land navigation and other technical issues.
This group presents the colors at high-profile campus and individual events throughout San Antonio. The senior performs the duties of the OIK of the cadets.
The Bataan Memorial Walk will be held on February 26, 2002. rake trek across the high desert landscape at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. This walk is dedicated to honoring and remembering the heroic service members who participated in the original Death March during World War II, sacrificing their freedom, health, and in many cases, their lives. Preference will be given to cadets based on APFT, GPA and organizational involvement. Father acts as OIC. More information is available here.

Every year, tens of thousands of runners and spectators flock to Washington to join this classic. Based in the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, the Army Ten Mile proceeds support Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation, a comprehensive network of support and recreation services designed to improve the lives of soldiers and their families. The race starts and ends at the Pentagon, passing DC landmarks including the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building.
The Army Ten-Miler’s mission is to safely run the Army’s annual 10-mile race on Washington’s Military District to promote the Army, build esprit de corps, support fitness goals and improve community relations. More information is available here.
(Cultural Awareness and Linguistics Program) This program allows cadets to apply for a month-long summer program to work with a foreign military organization, take a language course, or participate in a humanitarian aid project in a developing country. The goal of the program is to create military officers with more experience in interacting with foreign cultures. More information is available here.
Cadet Leader Training provides cadets with three to four weeks of leadership experience in Army Organization and Equipment (TO&E) units. Cadets hold leadership positions at the lieutenant level in active duty units. Platoon Leader duties are 3-4 weeks depending on host unit and location. Assignments include units located in CONUS and OCONUS. The cadets are assigned a department mentor, they are provided with accommodation and meals in the canteen. This program is for MS III cadets only prior to and completing the Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC). More information is available here.
Texas House Veterans Committee Discusses Persistent Military Recruitment Challenges
Limited quotas are available to eligible cadets for voluntary airborne training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Applicants must have passed the aircraft physical and obtained the appropriate APFT score. Upon successful completion of this training, the cadet is eligible to wear the Army Airborne Badge. The three training weeks are divided into floor, tower and vault weeks. The purpose of Earth Week is to develop individual skills, such as skydiving. A week of jumps consists of 5 successful jumps. More information is available here.
