Fully Funded Graduate School Scholarships Available For New York City Residents – The law offers a variety of scholarships based on financial need, academic merit, leadership, work experience and community service. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded to several first-year students each year and covers full tuition. While students are automatically considered for these awards based on their admissions application, some awards have additional application requirements; Please read each scholarship for more information. Once an applicant has been admitted to the Faculty of Law, their record is automatically available for scholarship. No separate application is required for this scholarship. Full-year scholarships starting at $5,000 are awarded to students based on their commitment to law school (primarily determined by LSAT scores and undergraduate academic performance) and potential for admission to law school. Notification of award is sent by acknowledgment letter. The scholarship is renewable if the recipient continues to demonstrate academic excellence. A student must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in order for their merit scholarship to be extended in full for the next academic year. Students with a cumulative GPA between 2.80 and 2.99 will receive 50% of the original merit scholarship. Students with a GPA below 2.80 will not receive any portion of the scholarship for the following academic year. Scholarship renewal after first year is based on spring/summer 1L assessment. Summer credits do not count toward scholarship renewal after the first year of the Accelerated Program. If a student’s GPA falls below the renewal requirement at the end of the first year, we cannot guarantee that the award will return to the original level in subsequent years, unless the student can apply for a scholarship because the cumulative GPA increases each year.
