Low Income Grants & Scholarships For Low Income College Students
UCLA’s First to Go program promotes the visibility and engagement of first-generation students on campus by hosting networking events, promoting first-generation students and faculty, and maintaining a network of first-generation alumni.
They also have an affordable living center for first generation students called the First Living Learning Community. Any student can apply as long as they identify as a first generation student.
The Yale Community Initiative (also known as the FGLI Community Initiative) aims to help first-generation students experiencing culture shock by promoting dialogue and connecting students with resources. The goal of this initiative is to help first-generation students get what they need to succeed in school through community building.
The Center for Undocumented, First-Generation, and Low-Income Students at Brown provides a co-learning space focused on first-generation, undocumented, and low-income students. These efforts include a year-long community development program called the FLI Scholars Program and student development opportunities.

Williams Firsts is committed to supporting all students who are the first in their families to attend college. If you are a first-generation student, you can participate in peer groups, Williams First Student Council, conferences, and graduation ceremonies.
The Greenfield Cultural Center at the University of Pennsylvania has a First Generation Low Income (FGLI) program. The goal of the FGLI program is to combat the isolation experienced by first-generation students by creating a sense of belonging.
The college hosts first-generation student programs and activities designed to foster a sense of community and provide students with access to resources. These include a Family Reception, a Student Reception, and a First Generation Graduate Student Dinner. The school also offers the Next Generation Leadership Institute, a five-day program for first-generation and low-income students focused on community building and leadership development.

The University of Chicago’s Low-Income First Generation Immigrant Network actively connects students, faculty, and faculty to promote inclusion. The University of Chicago provides a sense of community while allowing first-generation students to graduate debt-free.
First-generation students who do not qualify for the school’s no-barrier policy, which allows high-need students to graduate debt-free, receive $20,000 over four years through the Empowerment Initiative.

The University of Michigan First-Generation Student Portal is a place of support for the university’s first-generation students. Students on campus can use this space to find resources for first-gen students, connect with partner offices to support first-gen students, connect with a first-gen project manager, and use it as a common meeting room.
Being a first-generation college student comes with unique challenges, so finding a college program that will support you can be rewarding. Don’t be afraid to ask about first-generation programs at your college or university. USC offers several scholarships to help undergraduate students pay for tuition. This funding comes from a variety of university, federal, state, and private sources. But unlike loans, they do not need to be repaid.

Typically, merit scholarships are designed for students with special abilities, such as academic, athletic, or artistic talent. The award recognizes students who are interested in a specific field of study, are active in their cultural community, or live in a specific region of the country.

USC Merit Scholarships, awarded through the office, ranging from a few thousand dollars to full tuition, are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, leadership, service and talent. These include full-tuition scholarships, half-tuition presidential scholarships, and per-semester dean’s scholarships.
To receive a USC scholarship, students must enroll at the university by November 1 or December 1, depending on their major. Most majors require students to visit Ear Action and submit a complete application by November 1st.

Early Action is not available to students enrolled in the Iovine and Young Academy or BA Architecture, Art and Design, Film, Dance, Drama, Music and Global Business programmes. Applicants for these majors must apply for both scholarships by December 1st.
